Mt. Baker is the third highest mountain in Washington State with an elevation of 10,781 ft. It is the second most active volcano in the Cascade Range after Mount Saint Helens and is the second most heavily glaciated volcano in the Cascade Range after Mount Rainier. Mount Baker also known as Koma Kulshan or Kulshan to the Native Americans of the area. The mountain can be seen as far away as Nanaimo on Vancouver Island in Canada and as far south (on a clear day) as Tacoma.
